The Lord Works In Mysterious Ways...AND I LOVE IT!!!

Woah! This week has been amazing! For the past month or so, Nick and I have been looking online at places to live when we're married. We have been looking on Craigslist and KSL and there have been a ton that we like. We e-mailed, called, and left messages with like 10 of them and only got a response from two. We went and checked them out, and they were a little too ghetto for us. Pipes going across the ceiling, etc.. So, we decided to just drive around on Saturday and looked at all the complexes around UVU. We tried calling them and all of their offices were closed on Saturdays. Nick was going to a movie with his friend Kyle, so we had to head back home. On our way home, done looking for the day, we saw this sign that said "For Rent" on this really nice house. Like GORGEOUS house. And Nick was like "What is for rent?" So we pulled up closer to the sign and in black sharpie marker it said "1 Bedroom, Basement Apartment For Rent!" Nick said "Do you want to try calling it?" So I did. We were already stopped in front of the house, so when we called up the guy and asked if we could come check it out, he said yes. We get out of the car and knock on the door. He laughed so hard and said "Wow, that was fast!!" Haha. I don't think that he knew that we were already outside. He told us that the move in date is May 1st, it's for Newlyweds, and cable, internet, utilities, electricity, and everything is included in the rent. But that wasn't what pushed it over the edge for us. It was 3 BLOCKS FROM UVU! That's exactly what Nick wanted so he could walk or ride his bike to school. That will save us so much money on gas. We went downstairs to check it out. IT WAS PERFECT!! We both looked at each other and said "This is it!" You could just see the excitement on Nick's face. It was so cute! We went upstairs and got a contract. As we were on our way out the door, the guy that lives upstairs said that he barely put the sign up that morning and we were the first people to stop by. But he said he really liked us and he would take the sign down if we want the apartment. He wouldn't wait for other people to come check it out. He is the nicest guy. It's him and his wife that live up there. They have six kids, but they're all older and moved out with their own family. Like my family kinda. They're way strong members in the church. He is an artist, a ski instructor, and a spit fire. He has so much energy for someone his age. I am guessing they're about sixty. Me and Nick both had such a good feeling about it when we left. So, Nick went and turned in the contract this morning. When I was on my way to class after lunch, I got a call from John (the apartment owner) and said "Your hubby to be came and dropped off the contract this morning. But I just have a question for YOU." I was like "Okay..." a little nervous. Then he said "Do you really want this apartment?" And I said "Absolutely. Nick and I had such a good feeling the minute we walked in and met you guys. The apartment is exactly what we are looking for." And he said "Then it's yours. I will take down the sign right now!! We too had the same feeling when we met you guys. I am someone who goes with my gut feeling, and I definitely got a good feeling when I met you guys!!" Can you believe that?! WE FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE!! I am so excited guys, you have no idea!! Everything is just falling into place for us. We went and registered at Target on Friday too. Man, I love my life. I have the perfect guy for me and I couldn't ask for anything else!

LOVE THE IN-LAWS!!

I am not gonna lie, I was a little scared to meet my future in-laws in person. I have talked to them a million times on the phone and over skype, but it's always different in person! But I knew it had to happen, but.....THEY'RE AMAZING!!! I love them! Nick and I left last Sunday night, and made it to Port Orchard, Washington on Monday night. We walked into their house and they welcomed me with open arms and lots of kisses!! They could tell I was a little bit shy, (me shy? yes, I was nervous, okay!?) but that left really quick. Since it was late, we all went to bed and that was that. On Tuesday, Nick and I went with Tina and Bret (Nick's sister and brother-in-law) to Tacoma and ate at a sushi bar...GROSS!!! But I survived! After bearing the smell of raw fish, we went to the salon and pampered ourselves. All of us, (even the boys) treated ourselves to a pedicure!! It was so funny. The boys said they would do it again in a heart beat. If you haven't tried it, you are missing out! Tuesday night, we ate the BEST DINNER EVER!! We set up grills across the table and grilled up some ribs, vegetables, mushrooms, egg plants, and onions. Oh my GOSH!! It was delish! We played games then went to bed! Wednesday was exciting too!! Washington is sooo green and I can testify of that first hand. We drove to Manchester State Park and took a walk!! It honestly looked like a rain forest. To the left was the Ocean shore, to the right was mossy green trees! It was soooo beautiful! Thursday, we hopped on the ferry and headed to Seattle. In Seattle, we ate a their favorite place....the Crab Pot. Fresh sea food sound good to some, but gross to me!! They ordered the Alaskan Crab plate, which was like $35!! Crazy! They come pour a whole bowl of sea food onto the table and you just chow down!! I just got chicken.. Haha. Then Friday, we did a lot of preparing for Tina and Bret's reception for the next day. A lot of relaxing and enjoying each others' company!! Then I met everyone on Saturday at the reception! Their family is sooo cool!! And they know how to cook so well! Then sadly enough, we had to come home.. Vacation is over, now I have to get some serious wedding planning done!! YES!!! Only 54 more days until I am a married woman!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Wow!! I have only posted on here ONE time! Crazy! So many things have happened since that day! First off, Nick and I are engaged! We're getting married on May 15th, 2010 in the Salt Lake Temple! I have never been so happy in my life! I have found my other half! The "brown boy" version of me! Nick is AMAZING and I am so blessed to have found him when I did! I love him! Anyways, enough with the mushy gushy stuff... Onto wedding plans! For some reason, when we got engaged, we waited like a whole month before we even started doing any planning. He scheduled the temple before he had even proposed, but that was all we had planned. Now there is only 75 days until the big day and it's crunch time! Emily took our engagements this past week and I hope they turned out great! I can't wait to see them! We picked out bridesmaid dresses and ordered them and they should be here tomorrow. They're super cute! We're planning on making belts/ties to go around the bust! We started registering at Target, but we still have to go around the store with the "gun" and scan the things we want! I cannot wait. It all seems like a dream come true to me.. I'll post some pictures of fun things we have done in the past few months! Hope you enjoy. :)

Welcome to my life!!

It's kinda crazy that I haven't ever posted anything on here and I have had this blog for like 5 months. Hmmm.. Maybe I should start blogging! Well, as you all know, I am dating Nick Dargel. He is a great guy! I cannot believe how blessed I am to have him in my life! From day one, he has been such a gentleman to me. He has been in my institute class all semester, but I was kinda dating Randon and he was kinda dating this other girl named Elle. Both of those flings fizzled out and once again, we were both single. He had a goal to go on one date a week, so when he asked me out, all he was thinking was that it was going to be a fun date for the week. We went out to eat and played games with his roommates, and hit it off a lot better than either of us had expected. I wasn't really looking for anything, and neither was he. He asked me to play some flag football with him a couple days later, and I accepted. He woke me up at like 8:00am and said he was on his way to pick me up, giving me like 10 minutes to get ready.. Hmmm.. Put on my sweats, threw my hair up, and brushed my teeth. That's about all I could do in that short time.. Which meant NO MAKE UP on the second time hanging out! For some reason, he still thought I was beautiful with no make up, which says a lot! That's when I kinda started having a little crush. We watched the BYU vs. Utah game a couple days later and have been inseparable ever since. I had no clue that I would fall as fast as I did, but I did. I couldn't help it, it's Nick. He has everything that I have ever wanted in a guy, and then some. He treats me like a princess! EVERY girl deserves to be treated the way Nick treats me. I think things all happened at the correct time too. The Lord works in mysterious ways, but everything happens for a reason. I have a feeling that this blog will not be about only me anymore. It will talk a lot about Nick, seeing that he is in my life now, and most likely will for a long LONG time (if you know what I mean.) I feel like this post has been kinda general, but there is a month in a half that I had to cover. I am going to start blogging more often, so the future posts will be a lot more specific. I hope you all like him!! :)
