Woah! This week has been amazing! For the past month or so, Nick and I have been looking online at places to live when we're married. We have been looking on Craigslist and KSL and there have been a ton that we like. We e-mailed, called, and left messages with like 10 of them and only got a response from two. We went and checked them out, and they were a little too ghetto for us. Pipes going across the ceiling, etc.. So, we decided to just drive around on Saturday and looked at all the complexes around UVU. We tried calling them and all of their offices were closed on Saturdays. Nick was going to a movie with his friend Kyle, so we had to head back home. On our way home, done looking for the day, we saw this sign that said "For Rent" on this really nice house. Like GORGEOUS house. And Nick was like "What is for rent?" So we pulled up closer to the sign and in black sharpie marker it said "1 Bedroom, Basement Apartment For Rent!" Nick said "Do you want to try calling it?" So I did. We were already stopped in front of the house, so when we called up the guy and asked if we could come check it out, he said yes. We get out of the car and knock on the door. He laughed so hard and said "Wow, that was fast!!" Haha. I don't think that he knew that we were already outside. He told us that the move in date is May 1st, it's for Newlyweds, and cable, internet, utilities, electricity, and everything is included in the rent. But that wasn't what pushed it over the edge for us. It was 3 BLOCKS FROM UVU! That's exactly what Nick wanted so he could walk or ride his bike to school. That will save us so much money on gas. We went downstairs to check it out. IT WAS PERFECT!! We both looked at each other and said "This is it!" You could just see the excitement on Nick's face. It was so cute! We went upstairs and got a contract. As we were on our way out the door, the guy that lives upstairs said that he barely put the sign up that morning and we were the first people to stop by. But he said he really liked us and he would take the sign down if we want the apartment. He wouldn't wait for other people to come check it out. He is the nicest guy. It's him and his wife that live up there. They have six kids, but they're all older and moved out with their own family. Like my family kinda. They're way strong members in the church. He is an artist, a ski instructor, and a spit fire. He has so much energy for someone his age. I am guessing they're about sixty. Me and Nick both had such a good feeling about it when we left. So, Nick went and turned in the contract this morning. When I was on my way to class after lunch, I got a call from John (the apartment owner) and said "Your hubby to be came and dropped off the contract this morning. But I just have a question for YOU." I was like "Okay..." a little nervous. Then he said "Do you really want this apartment?" And I said "Absolutely. Nick and I had such a good feeling the minute we walked in and met you guys. The apartment is exactly what we are looking for." And he said "Then it's yours. I will take down the sign right now!! We too had the same feeling when we met you guys. I am someone who goes with my gut feeling, and I definitely got a good feeling when I met you guys!!" Can you believe that?! WE FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE!! I am so excited guys, you have no idea!! Everything is just falling into place for us. We went and registered at Target on Friday too. Man, I love my life. I have the perfect guy for me and I couldn't ask for anything else!
